Why Black?
Carbon embedded so that they are conductive and can be used with liquid level sensing robots.
Small charge emitted and when the tip touches the top of the liquid the robot can detect that the circuit is completed resulting in proper tip height for pipetting.

Tips for Biomek® FX and 3000 Systems
Automation quality tips are performance tested on Biomek FX workstations. Rigorous quality control and lot testing ensure proper tip seating and liquid delivery for worry-free, walk-away performance. Natural color, metal-free virgin medical grade polypropylene. Certified free of detectable RNase, DNase, DNA, and PCR inhibitors. Sterile tips are certified pyrogen free. Autoclaving is not recommended.

96-Tip Racks

In contrast to other technologies that use siliconized or fluoro-coated surfaces, TipOne RPT tips offer exceptional delivery without the risk of interaction with additives or treatments, even after sterilization or autoclaving.
Recommended applications for TipOne RPT include selected nucleic acids, proteins, antibodies, and solutions with Triton-X, glycerin, or other components that require an extremely low surface energy for complete sample release. TipOne RPT is also suitable for aqueous and other common laboratory solutions.
